Complex business got simpler and better transport agreements
Over a period of 10 years, TransportRådgiverne has carried out no fewer than 3 major optimisation projects for SP Group. The tasks have been to optimise transport for a company in international growth. Most recently, the tender went across 18 companies in four European countries.
Complex analyses pave the way for better agreements
In the latest project, TransportRådgiverne started by analysing all transport across SP Group companies. Poul Erik Hansen says:
It's extremely complex, but the task was boiled down to a competitive tendering process for 18 companies in Denmark, Poland, Slovakia and the Netherlands. And once again, we have achieved significant improvements in the agreements.
Negotiations at the top level Through the collaboration with TransportRådgiverne, tasks have been centralised and negotiations have moved from sales management to the top level of transport companies:
Today, suppliers see us as a bigger player and we are met by those who make the political decisions and can pull out a different price list. That didn't happen when we were negotiating on our own. In general, suppliers now have a much greater focus on us.
With operations in both Denmark and abroad in a market where conditions are changing rapidly across borders, it is a great market advantage for us that we now have tools to keep track of our transport agreements.
Structure and overview
For SP Group, the collaboration has also meant that they now have 2-year agreements with clear quality goals. They have also introduced SOPs and thoroughly described the services they want from suppliers. TransportRådgiverne has also helped create an overview of who the agreements are with and when they need to be renegotiated:
Higher professionalism with specialists
According to Poul Erik Hansen, TransportRådgiverne's strength is that they are specialists down to their fingertips:
They don't just measure on a big zone map, but on the facts. And I mean down to two pallets in one corner. They are our guarantee that we maintain the level of our agreements, and that requires you to have a good understanding of the transport market and be able to see what you're being invoiced for.
Finally, Poul Erik Hansen emphasises that TransportRådgiverne stands by the calculated savings and puts them into practice. In the form of a service agreement that ensures price control, sparring and support. It shows on the bottom line and has undoubtedly increased SP Group's competitiveness.
