ELEVEN Australia

ELEVEN Australia got their dream scenario

Transport and warehouse operations are at the center of ELEVEN Australia's business. As a global manufacturer of hair and body care products, the company has very specific requirements for its logistic setup. With TransportRådgiverne's help, they got them all. All of them!

Dissatisfied customers. Product waste. Lack of tracking. Frustration among their own employees. All symptoms that ELEVEN Australia's logistics business needed a thorough overhaul.

This was the reason why Jan Sommer, COO at ELEVEN Australia, contacted TransportRådgiverne. An employee knew TransportRådgiverne from a previous job, and when Jan Sommer asked around in his network, his impression was confirmed: Here was the expertise he was looking for.

Unrivalled in 20 years
Now that the new logistics setup is up and running, Jan Sommer does not hesitate with his conclusion:

After 20 years in the business, I've never seen a result like this before. We were very specific about what we wanted, and we got them all. It's almost unheard of. But TransportRådgiverne took us by the hand all the way. They really invested time and effort in the project. Helped us collect all the necessary data so that we got a sharp tender. Brought all the major logistics companies into play and were skillful negotiators. TransportRådgiverne also listened to us and have been good at reading us. So we ended up with a perfect match - resulting in satisfied customers, happier employees and significant savings on top. It's actually a bit of a fairytale

New central warehouse with high performance
The project started with a primary focus on performance. The basics such as the location of the company's central warehouse in Europe, inventory management, track & trace and reporting had to be taken care of.

In addition to the tender itself, TransportRådgiverne put many hours into a Centre of Gravity analysis that resulted in moving the central warehouse from the Netherlands to France.

- France was not our first guess. But French Viaposte turned out to be the perfect match," says Jan Sommer.

First and foremost, ELEVEN Australia met a dedicated partner who entered the dialogue very positively. If there was something they could not immediately do, it was solved. At the same time, Viaposte has experience with beauty products and understands, for example, the need for a clean warehouse, First In, First Out, building displays and the different customer requirements for BTB and BTC orders.

- At the same time, I learnt that they managed to retain both employees and their knowledge for many years. And that's something that provides stability. Today, they also deliver a 99% performance rate! This gives us an absolute minimum of complaints and saves us a huge workload," ELEVEN Australia's global COO points out.

Priority customer on ocean freight
A growing challenge in recent years is ocean freight from Asia. The price is volatile, the sailing is south of Africa, and as a customer you don't know if you're in or out. Will the goods leave this week - or in three weeks? Needless to say, this was hard to live with for ELEVEN Australia.
Jan Sommer explains:

TransportRådgiverne has managed to get us pooled so that we have become a prioritized customer. This means that the carrier allocates space to us and we get shorter, stable transport times.

ELEVEN Australia has also received index-based pricing, ensuring competitive ocean freight rates throughout the contract period.

No Cure, No Pay - something to live up to
TransportRådgiverne operates with a No Cure, No Pay concept, and if Jan Sommer had any doubts beforehand, this was convincing him.

If you have that promise, you have to be skillful to have a good business. And I have to say they have lived up to that. Quite simply, they are extremely experienced. They know the market standards, and they've got us really good contracts. As an added bonus, we can get out of the contracts with reasonable notice if, contrary to expectations, the quality changes.

A built-in guarantee
ELEVEN Australia also has a 2-year service agreement, which means that TransportRådgiverne carries out invoice checks - ensuring that both prices and terms are respected. Jan Sommer concludes:

What started as a performance project has come full circle. At the same time, it has saved us double-digit percentages on both warehouse operations and transport. And we can see that it runs flawlessly. So I couldn't be happier, and I'm happy to give a warm recommendation - without hesitation,

He adds that ELEVEN Australia's project in Europe is scheduled to open a new chapter - also with TransportRådgiverne - with a focus on North America.
